Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026

Platoon respects your privacy and collects only the information needed to operate the app and support communication, coordination, scheduling, and trade workflows for fire departments.

1. Overview

Platoon is built to help fire departments communicate clearly, coordinate crews, manage events and polls, and handle schedules and trades. We keep our approach simple and focused on the information necessary to provide those features.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as your email address and user ID, profile information such as station, assignment, platoon, and similar details, and user content you choose to create or share in the app, including messages, announcements, poll responses, event participation, trade listings, and schedule data.

If you choose to receive text messages, we may also collect and store your mobile number, SMS opt-in status, message preferences, and basic delivery or response records such as STOP or HELP requests.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the core Platoon experience, including department communication, scheduling, trades, events, polls, and messaging. We also use it to maintain and improve the app and to contact users when needed about support or service-related matters.

SMS data is used only to provide the communications you request and operational notifications related to your Platoon account, including account activity, shift trade alerts, scheduling notifications, union announcements, events, polls, and messaging or activity alerts.

4. Data Sharing

Platoon does not sell user data. Information is shared only with service providers that help us operate the app infrastructure, such as Supabase for authentication and database services.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent records are not sold or shared for marketing or promotional use.

5. Data Retention

We retain data while your account is active so the app can function as expected. If you would like your account or data deleted, you may contact support or use the public delete-account page to request deletion.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and operational measures to help protect user information. No system is perfect, but we work to keep Platoon secure and reliable.

7. User Rights

Users can request updates to their account information or ask for their data to be deleted by contacting support.

Users who opt in to text messaging can manage notification preferences in the app when available, reply STOP to opt out of SMS, or reply HELP for assistance.

8. Contact

If you have questions about this policy or need help with your data, contact support@platoonapp.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

Users may opt in to Platoon text messaging through account registration, department onboarding, or notification preference settings. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.

Message frequency varies based on account activity and the notifications you choose to receive. Message and data rates may apply.
