SMS Consent for Union Communications

This public page documents how firefighter union members consent to receive informational SMS messages through Platoon-supported union communications.

1. Platform Operator and Use

Platoon is operated by HinsyApps LLC and is used by firefighter unions for informational member communications, coordination, events, scheduling-related updates, polls, announcements, and other union operational notices.

Platoon-supported SMS messages are intended for union members who have provided consent to receive informational text messages from their union.

  • Union members voluntarily provide their mobile phone number to their union during onboarding, membership updates, account setup, or communication preference collection.
  • Members are informed that their mobile number may be used to receive SMS communications related to union informational messages.
  • Members explicitly consent by selecting a checkbox, signing an onboarding form, submitting a preference form, or otherwise confirming SMS consent through a union-controlled process.
  • Consent records are maintained by the union, including the member identity, mobile number, consent language presented, consent status, and related timestamp or form record when available.

3. Example Consent Language

6. Consent Records

Each union is responsible for collecting and maintaining consent records for its members. Platoon supports union informational communications only for members whose mobile numbers and SMS preferences have been provided through the union's consent process.
